Welcome! You’re here because you’ve been asked to provide fingerprints, likely by a Florida state or county agency. They require your fingerprints to comply with Florida regulations for certain jobs and volunteer roles. Alternatively, you might be looking to have your fingerprints printed on an FD-258 Fingerprint Card. You’re in the right place – we can help you with that.
If an out-of-state organization has requested your fingerprints, they probably need them scanned onto an FD-258 Fingerprint Card. These cards are used for various background checks at the FBI level and do not require an ORI number. However, it’s important to note that Florida agencies like DCF, AHCA, and DOEA do not accept fingerprint card submissions. If this applies to you, please continue reading.

In Florida, many jobs require a Level 2 background check (livescan fingerprints) before employment begins. This process is managed by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), which typically requires an Originating Agency Identifier Number (ORI). The ORI number indicates why you need the background check and specifies which agency should receive your results.
The ORI number on your fingerprint scans directs the FDLE on where to send your prints, ensuring they are forwarded to the correct State Department. Florida law mandates that an ORI number be included with your livescan fingerprints, as prints without this number cannot be applied to any background check or meet any requirements.

Prepare for a smooth and successful experience! Here’s everything you need to know before your Livescan fingerprint appointment, from what documents to bring, to how to improve fingerprint quality and avoid delays. Follow these quick tips to help ensure clear, fast, and accurate results.
Many people worry about having “no fingerprints” or getting poor-quality results when using Livescan services. In some cases, applicants have had their prints rejected by the FBI and had to go through the process multiple times. The reality is that very few people naturally have unreadable fingerprints — and the good news is there are simple ways to improve your chances.

Avoid hand sanitizer or washing your hands right before your appointment. Clean hands are good — but too much washing dries out the skin and makes prints harder to capture.
Stay hydrated the day before and the day of your appointment. Good hydration improves skin texture and moisture.
Use a light, oil-free moisturizer on your hands the night before and the morning of your appointment, especially after washing your hands.
Skip swimming and dishwashing a few hours before your appointment — water exposure can soften or wrinkle your fingertips.
Cool your hands on hot days to reduce sweating.

At Renimade Fingerprint, our rejection rate is impressively low — far below the national average of 7–10%. While technology is important, technique matters just as much. Choosing trained, experienced Livescan technicians ensures clearer, high-quality prints on the first try. We’ve helped thousands of people, and we’re confident we can help you too.
To keep your visit smooth and efficient, be sure to have:
Two forms of ID — a government-issued photo ID (like a Florida driver’s license) and a second form of ID (such as a credit or debit card).
Your Social Security Number (if required for your submission).
Payment method — we accept credit/debit cards, cash, and checks.
If your appointment involves a Clearinghouse photo submission, please arrive well-groomed and avoid hats or headwear.
For extra peace of mind, we offer an optional second set of fingerprints during your visit for a small fee. If your first submission is rejected for any reason, we’ll already have a backup ready to submit, saving you time, hassle, and a return trip.
